Selection Criteria
After uploading the required documents to the DAAD
portal, the DAAD will first perform a correct check. It'll be checked either
the requirements are met or the application is complete. Often, you may be
asked to submit your work samples.
Grants are awarded by a special DAAD committee comprised of professors from German art, design, and cinema institutions. The decision is
based upon written applications and work samples that require to be submitted
(see: www.daad.de/extrainfo).
Further information
Confirmation of a scholarship doesn't
automatically guarantee admission to at least one of the schools. The concerned university decides either to offer a scholarship or not. Mostly entrance exam is required.
Please determine in time about admission requirements and application deadlines
and interview dates at your chosen university, and keep in mind that these
could also be several months before the planned start of your studies or maybe
before the DAAD awards the scholarship. You have to cover entrance exams
charges by yourself. If an applicant is obtainable a scholarship by the DAAD
but fails to be admitted to any of the schools indicated within the
application, he/she might not make use of the scholarship that has already been
awarded.
